"Love" for sanding

Here is a card I made a while back-I traced the inside of the chipboard flower with a stylus, and then sanded the reverse side to get the white "flower circles" on the top. I love the look of the ribbon mixed with the sassy strands on this card. This blue, Crystal Blue, happens to be one of my favorites-

Enjoy!

Endless Love Box of Cards

The February 08 Stamp of the Month is Endless love, I was really drawn to this stamp for some reason. I think it might be the "scallop" of it, I have had my eye on everything scalloped these days. The large stamp is huge, it's going to be hard to come up with things to do with it. (but I will figure something out) This is a box made of velum, and I stamped on it with regular CTMH ink, the trick is to heat it up with the craft gun as you go. (so not to smear the ink) I have included the pattern that I made for the box.

I am headed to Bev's mid morning-Everyone have a very Merry Christmas-

Click on the pattern to make it bigger.

80th Birthday Party

I was asked to create invitations for an 80th Birthday party-Here is what I came up with along with optional party favors. I think the 1st one is my favorite, but the second might be more manly.

DVD tin Directions (by request)

Here is what you need-(if you click on the picture it will become bigger and you can see the #s) Corner round the 2 5x7 pieces, and the 4.75x6.75 pattern paper.

Attach the pattern paper to the 5x7 CS and decorate. Then attach it to the DVD tin
Make the pocket for the inside of the tin by using the 6x4.5 pattern paper. On the back side of the CS, apply glue around the bottom half of the CS. Miter the corners as shown. "wrap" all three sides with the pattern paper. Then corner round the bottom 2 corners. Then attach to the left inside of tin.

Cover the top strip of the Jr. Legal pad with the 5x2.24 pattern paper (remember that the note pads have to be cut down to fit. (1" off the bottom) I had the office supply store cut them for me.

Embellish and make a matching pen (the tin will close best if the pen is laid on the left side of the note pad)

Dixie in Black and White

I know that most of you do know that I scrapbook, that's really how I got started in all of this paper crafting stuff, but most of you don't see it. I have a scrapbook for every year since 1994, and a few special albums like sisters, Christmas, Grandparents, and who know how many I have made as gifts and given away. I think my book for 2007 is my most favorite, but by the time 2008 comes to an end I am sure it will be my favorite. So here's one for the 2007 book. I love this large picture of Dixie (Charlie thinks she looks annoyed). It took about 15 shots to get her to be still and not eat the flowers.

Have a great weekend--
P.S.-these are some of the NEW stuff from the catalog- that flower is 4" Big- and the stamp set-

Serendipity DVD tin

Made this one as a gift for a host of a Christmas party. This is great paper-if you can swing it, you should get it. Here is a link with info on the Limited time special https://orders.closetomyheart.com/CTMHConsultants/marketing/pdf/heart_of_winter_flyer_07_us.pdf

Here is the inside with matching pen.

Happy flowers

This card makes me happy. The flowers are from the Solo "1" and every time I pull out this stamp set I think of how happy this flower is. The colors are a little out of the box for me, and for this time of the year, but I think it was a much warmer day when I made this. The weather is here is yuck-wet, cold and more wet! (I guess it's good for crafting though!) Some of my new stuff will be here tomorrow, yeah, so check back soon for something new!!

PS-Bev, this one is for you!

Puppy Love

I have always just loved this little guy. I bought the stamp set thinking I would have tons of uses for it, because of Dixie. But I must say that I have only used it for a few Thank you's, a swap and submissions. This one was for Papercrafts StampIt! but it didn't get in. I will have a Father's Day item in the up coming June/July issue of Papercrafts.

Hi Flower Card

I just love this card, I don't have it anymore, sent it to someone very special I am sure. I used the cuttlebug embossing folder and then rubbed over the top with chocolate ink. I also used a die cut for the flower, but I cut the back of the flower(brown part) free hand. Can you believe it, me, the person who can't cut with scissors for nothing!!!!!

2 posts, 1 day!!!

A new promotion for Close to My Heart (available Dec. 18-Jan 31st I think) is "Serendipity". Watch for details coming soon!! Here is a sneak peek at some cards I made with the set! It comes with a stamp set, die cuts, textured cardstock (yeah!) and patterned papers!! Love the papers and the die cuts. The stamp set is growing on me, I am sure I will learn to love it as I see more and more artwork done with it.

Live Turkeys on Thanksgiving

I saw these Turkeys on my way to Bev's for Thanksgiving. When I first spotted them they were closer to me, but as I pulled off the road to take a picture of them they were spooked just a bit and ran towards the brush. I snapped several pictures of them over 3 or 4 minutes Dixie decided to wake up from her snooze and bark at them, the Turkeys disappeared into the brush spared this Thanksgiving.

Gift of Thanks for a Service person

Not to long ago Papercrafts was asking for projects "of Thanks". They wanted cards and gifts for all types of people. I created this box for them, but they didn't pick it. If you want the pattern for this box, email me and I will send it to you(it is simple to create). I made mine as a thank you gift for a solider. I was real proud of it. Here it is in honor of Veteran's Day!

Charlie is a Marine, over the weekend we were invited to a Marine Birthday Party, the Marines turned 232(I think) on Saturday. Here is a picture of the cake-it tasted good!!!

Happy Veteran's Day Everyone.

Not a Snowflake

The Stamp of the Month has Snowmen and snowflakes. I did not think the snowflake looked like a snowflake. It came to me in the middle of the night what it did look like---Candy!!!

Paint Can & Cards

So I guess that Thursdays is the day for me to post, which is odd, because I am always in hurry to get everything done so I can watch Greys. At the craft fair last weekend paint cans were very popular, so I am trying to restock my supply before Slaton on the 3rd. The stamp set is "From Me to You". Those of you that got that special stamp, pull it out and make something fabulous.

Snowfriends...

Here is a clear paint can using the November SOTM, one of the perks of being a consultant, I get to have the stamps a little early. The paint can came from http://www.paperwishes.com/
There is glitter on the torn edges of the paper, but it doesn't show up in the picture.
