Queen for a Day

I found the color combo from Jeanette Lynton this week to be a bit of a challenge. The first time around on this combo had a too much of each of the colors. I went back and removed most of the Gypsy purple and it helped.
*Insert story here*
A good friend's daughter called and spoke of an event where if she raised enough money she would get to be the "Queen of the Sock Hop". I couldn't pass up this stamp set and the sentiment "Queen for a Day". The funny part of the story is that she said " a sock hop is kinda like a dance. I think they had them back in the old days, the 80's or something."
I guess to a 9 year old the 80's are vintage.......

I did it!

and I lived to tell about it!! I will say that I am really sore-mostly from hauling my rear out of the creek 3 times. That being said--I will be doing this again, it was so much FUN!!!
There was over 1000 runners, and several thousands of dollars was raised for the Children of fallen Soldiers.
It really doesn't matter what skill level you are, there were runners, walkers and even kids! If you are interested in this kind of event- search for Mud Runs in your area(Facebook has lots of them). If you are in Texas start here
After being gone all weekend, I don't have a lot of extra artwork ready. So give me a few days to get the laundry done (even the muddy clothes), catch up at work and rest cause I am one tired girl!! See you in a few days!
