Etsy Store Sale

I am having a Sale over at My Etsy Store-------> look in the side bar for the link.
Mini Albums and Mini Album Kits prices have been cut in half.
I NEED more space......how can one person have a whole room for Scrapbooking and not an inch left to put anything?

Milk cap

Not to long ago I was at the local antique store, one of my favorite things to do is stroll through the isles of the store and look-I almost never buy anything, but I love to go non-the less!
This trip I did buy something, a bag of milk bottle caps! I used one in this card that I think really made it fun! I love that it says Morton Texas, that is less than 50 miles from here!!

The CTMH Cricut cartridge, Art Philosophy, is full of SO many wonderful shapes--for this card not only did I cut out the heart, I also cut out the circle dollie! To finish off the card I added a great cork letter from Close to My Heart.

5+2=

The typeset canvas stickers from Close to my Heart are just wonderful, and work well with the current trend of ABC's and 123's this season. For this card I used the flash card as the focal point and added some flowers and leaves cut with cricut and stamped with coordinating stamp sets.

The lost halloween projects

Most of you know that I do a fair amount of submitting to Paper Crafts magazine, well because of the amount of time it takes to publish a magazine they call for projects a odd times of the year.
The point being that I found a whole picture folder full of Halloween project that have never been on the blog. The down side to that is that some of the products I used from Close to My Heart are retired, but maybe they will inspire you to create something anyways.
These projects feature the Hooligans product line. You can find a few of these items still available in the "while supplies last" section from Close to My Heart

Shape Cards

The new Cricut Cartridge from CTMH has a lots of great shaped cards, and I think this shape is one of my very favorites! I used the piercing tool to make some stitching marks on the outside edge of the card, which I think really highlights the shape of the card.

Book Review-Outlander Series

By far, these are the BEST books I have read in a very long time! You can read all the descriptions about the story here.
I am head over heals in LOVE with Jamie Fraser, in fact I am sure that no man could ever live up to him--ha, ha I say that as if he is a real person and not a character in a book!
This book is filled with Sottish history, and I enjoy history of all kinds, but my knowledge of Scotland and it's history was very limited. So ever so often I would have to Google battles or kings to find out who or what happened.

These books are thick, 900 pages or more per book-but don't let that sway you from reading it. The are worth every page!! And you will learn something about history as well a read a love story that will make your heart flutter!

The author loves a cliffhanger!! And there for after book one, I couldn't stop thinking about what happened, so I HAD to read book 2. Well the end of book 2 was worse, and I sat in the chair crying, I don't mean a few tears, I mean full fledged sobbing...... so I immediately downloaded book 3!! I am not real good with waiting.

The end of book 3 left everyone safe and happy, there for I decided it to be a good stopping point for the time being. (Not that I can even stop thinking about the characters)
There are 4 more books after these in the series, and the author is currently writing the what she says to be the last book in the series now due out in 2013. So I am going to read the next books a little slower, like I said I am not great with waiting and a cliffhanger that required me to wait for a year may just kill me!!

I will warn you, there are some pretty gruesome battles described, along with some sex and rape. I think these scenes are meant to make you relate to the characters and love them even more-it worked.

If you have read these books, email me, I would love to chat about them (I am almost positive that everyone in my house is very tired of hearing about Jamie Fraser, they just don't get it)

100% Awesome!

While at convention in July I only snapped a few pictures of Artwork, because I ordered the Convention CD. This card is one of the ones I took and I just fell in love with it. I cut out the fun ticket shape on the Cricut using the Art Philosophy cartridge. I paired it with a cardboard circle accent and a wooden button.

Silly Bands

I had this package of Letter themed Silly Bands that had been hanging around for awhile. I don't even remember why I bought them, sure it was for something important :)......
I decided to use them in a treat bag with a bag topper. I used the fun Typeset canvas stickers to accent the bag topper.

Happy Birthday Taffy Treat

Late last month was my Dad's birthday. Here is a little sweet treat and the card that I sent him.
I found the old fashion taffy at World Market here in town.
I created a slip cover for the box to dress it up some. I use the Typeset Canvas stickers-so fun to use and they add a great touch to any project.

Good Times

This month the Stamp of the Month from Close to My Heart-Limited Edition is great for Scrapbooking, as well as card making!! Here is a fun card I made using the tag stamp from the set. One of the great things about that tag is that you can cut the shape using the CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge.

Close to My Heart Cricut Cartridge gift bag VIDEO

Here is a video on how to make the small gift bag from the CTMH cricut cartridge.
Have a great weekend!
ETA: to answer some of Karens questions-
There is no standard to set the dial at, you can cut whatever image you want at whatever size you need. If you are using a 2 part image then you need to leave the dial at the same size for both pieces, the very smart people at provo craft have figure out all the details so that the cut correctly.
As for the boarders-I am guessing what you are saying about tricking the machine is correct, unless you have the gypsy then you can manipulate the shape sizes.
