Mother's Day Card

I did a Father's Day Card, so I thought I better remember MOM too! I used the wonderful rose pattern from the Dotty for You Special Pack of Paper. You can find out how to get your very own pack for $5 here. I also used some Bag Closures from bread, bagel, muffins etc. I was inspired to do so from a card in the Practical Solutions Issue of Paper Crafts. I added some twine, felt letters and a paper butterfly to finish it off.

Fancy Butterfly

When I spotted this card in the current issue of Paper Crafts, I knew I wanted to re-create it using the fun April Stamp of the Month from Close to My Heart. I used all the fun large words from the stamp set and then added some smaller words from a few other stamps I had on hand. I really liked the bold colors of the butterfly and wanted to copy that. I used a retired butterfly stamp from last year and embossed it with black embossing powder and then used lagoon and sunset inks with a sponge to add the color. I can't wait to send this to someone special.
Would you like the great Stamp? To get the Stamp of the Month for $5 is spend $50 on my website!! What a deal! And you can get the Dotty for You paper pack for $5.00 as well! Head over to my website for all the details

My Pop Rocks

While a Micheal's last week I came across this really fun wooden accent that says-My Pop Rocks--my 1st thought was how great it would go with the Dotty for You paper special. My 2nd thought was--oooh fun, pop rocks!  I created a simple pocket by scoring, trimming and folding for the inside. For the cover I just glued the wooden accent to the front of my card and then added a few rhinestone gems to the felt guitar.

Project Life 2012: Week 14 & 15

Here are my pages for week 14 and 15. You can see that for week 14 I focused on just Easter-I took about 120 pictures that weekend, but there was no way to fit all of them. I used the pocket page with the most pockets and picked my favorite pictures. You can see that I cut the larger one in half to fit.
Here is a close up of the title-I used some Martha Stewart glitter and a few embellishments for the title.
And below is Week 15.
I used some retired CTMH peach stamps to add a little fun to the page.

Glitter Buttons

For this card I used an assortment of colored buttons from CTMH and Prisma Glitter, the best glitter on the market. I also used one of the new Die Cut cards and covered it with the Dotty for You special paper.(Details below)
To glitter the buttons I used liquid glue and then used my tweezers to dip the wet button in to the glitter.

Butterfly Card with Tutorial

Stamp Club Members, mark your calendar because you get to make this card on May 1st! But for those of you not in the club here is a little step by step of how to make this fun fringe. For this card I chose to use some vintage book print. I used 6 pieces 1 1/2" wide folded in half and then fringed. (I folded and fringed 3 layer together)
If you have some of those fancy fringe scissors this will go faster, but I don't so I just cut about 1/4" wide slits in the fold.
I attach the bottom layer (note-put a staple in the layers to hold them together) and then I add the next layer slightly higher.

Lastly, fluff with your fingers.
Don't you just love that pattern paper-get your pack today for only $5-all the details are here.

Recycled Egg Carton

After Easter and the egg dying there are several carton leftover. I decided to use the new Dotty for You special paper to cover an egg crate and fill it with homemade buns! (I got the idea from Pinterest, have you been there yet? So many ideas, so little time......) You can find out all about the Dotty for You special here.
I used the Enjoy stamp set to create the band for the recipe and then I use on of the metal clips to attach to the carton with some bakers twine. I popped up the center is popped up on a wooden button.
Don't those homemade buns look yummy-here is a link from the Outdoor Kitchen on how to make your own Claire's Nettle Buns.

On the Road Again

This is the card I sent to my team this month. Doesn't make you want to take a trip? In a camper? I love that little trailer stamp because it makes me think of my Lucy Trailer. Have you been wondering about the trailer? Well now that the weather has warmed up much more work will take place in her, in fact my sister is coming this weekend and we are going to work on some things for her!

Book Review: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

This was the 1st book (that I remember) reading that was just letters. The whole book is a collection of letters written back and forth between several people. This is the story of Guernsey Islands after the 2nd World War, focus on the German Occupation of the Island. There are some really sad parts in the book were the English Islanders were treated badly by the Germans, things that make me very thankful for the time and place that I live. Even though there are sad parts the book has lots of happy and funny parts and ends on a great note. I would highly recommend this book, I learned somethings I didn't know about.
One thing that one of characters writes " reading good books ruins you for enjoying bad books" I think that is so true. I love reading and will read just about anything, but a good book will stick with you forever!

Crusin 3x3 Cards

I am so glad April has arrived, this month I am featuring the Crusin paper pack from CTMH and it is one of my favorite packs in this catalog! For this cards I used the fun stamp Born to Ride! Now I am not a motorcycle person, but I can surly appreciate the manliness, the shinny chrome and the macho feel of hitting the rode!

Project Life 2012: Week 12 & 13

Both Week 12 and 13 were pretty un-eventful..... but I did manage to get some picture of everyday things on a few days. The picture below show a Saturday night game of Skip-Bo as well as a picture of our rain gauge. Because we need rain so badly I thought it would be a good idea to use the stamp I had with the Bible verse Psalm 118:24. I stamped it right over the picture using staz-on ink.
Week 13-I choose to combine my handwriting with some type writer text.
