Pinterest Inspired and a give away!

Today I have several card inspired by cards I pinned on Pinterest. Here is a link to my board on Pinterest, I am sure you can figure out the ones I was inspired by.

When I decided to make the ribbon flower for the 2nd card I dyed my own seam binding (I used goldrush ink and a sponge to color it) I wasn't sure how much ribbon it would take. I made enough for 2 flowers, so I am giving the 2nd away! To enter just leave a comment below telling me your favorite fall tradition
I will draw a random winner on Monday!

Your the Best Thank you card

We had a birthday in this house not to long ago, and were in need of Thank you cards. This simple design came together quickly and the burlap ribbon added just the right touch for it to be a little bit manly!

Quiet the voices in your head.....

Halloween bottle labels are always fun to me, but they don't have to be just for bottles. I used the Magic Potion stamp set to create this card. Nothing says Halloween like a label to point out you have voices in your head!! Hahahahaha!!

Glam-o-ween Winner

Casandra Bennett said...
I'd have to say I like both, really. I love the Spellbound kit with it's traditional colors, but I loved the Hooligans kit from a few years ago with all the fun, and happy colors. I like to think I'm creative but when I see the stuff you come up with, I think I still have a lot to learn. LOL Cute projects, as always!

Glam-o-ween and a Give-Away!

Orange and Black are fun Halloween colors, but how much fun is it to see Halloween done is something non-traditional? Like Pink, Lime green and Purple!!  For this set I put together several different Glam-o-ween treats.
To start off I made some cupcake wrappers. I used the CTMH Artiste Cartridge. You will never guess, but that cupcake wrapper is the Easter grass!! I added some green and pink glitter glue to the points and BAM- Glam-o-ween!

Next up I have quite a stash of glassine bags, so I stamped mine with a chevron pattern and then added a sweet treats label--Guess what? I am going to give away the stamp set to create your own label!!  This bag holds some chocolate nuggets covered in paper I also stamped with the chevron pattern.
Last up a popcorn box, but who says it has to be used for popcorn? I decorated the front with a cute little cat medallion and some glitter trim.
How fun right? Well now here's your chance to win- I am giving away {by random drawing} what you see below in the picture along with the Perfect Fit Halloween stamp set (also below). You will be getting enough pre-cut pieces to make 4 of each of these items show along with the stamp set. All you have to do is a little assembly and you have yourself 12 treat containers all ready to go!
4-popcorn boxes with medallions
4-glassine treat sacks
4cupcake wrappers
4-platic spiders
silver adhesive trim
purple tule

How to win- 1 entry per item below- you can do one or both
1. Leave a comment here on the blog telling me if you prefer traditional colors or non-traditional colors.

Glitter Rose

When I came home from CTMH convention I could not get enough of this Love Blooms stamp set. I made lots of projects using it, and it still seems to be a go to stamp. The sentiment is not showing well in the photo, but this is a sympathy card.  Not always the easiest to make, but often needed. This one is for my stash.

Book Review: A Thief in a Kilt

Scoundrel. Seducer. Sir Ian MacKay deserves to be called the 'Thief of Hearts'. Yet he is a man with a mission - to return Scotland's rightful king to his ancestral throne. But first he must find out the true identify of mysterious woman whose beauty and wit have dazzled the court... and why she is avoiding him. Can it be possible that Kate Templeton is an English spy? Though Ian insists that no woman has ever refused him, Kate vows to resist his scandalous charm. Leading him on a merry chase all over Scotland is the best way to safeguard her heart. Yet a passionate confrontation brings them together at last... and the only word on her lips is yes...

I found this book to be a lite, fun read! I enjoyed Ian's character very much, he is witty and funny. Kate shows up in Ian's castle as an English Spy, but he knows something is up. He sets out to discover the truth about her but instead he seems to discover that he is in love with her. It all takes place in Scotland 1400's, so they seem to talk strange at first, but you will get use to it. In fact it's down right funny at times. When Ian is anger or surprised he says "God's Teeth woman" and that just made me laugh and like him ever that much more. Well worth the read if you like love stories.

So Thankful for....

This card went out to my team this month-the bold flower pattern is my favorite. I have so many ideas, but so little time! I used the new glitter glue in the wonderful almond color for the accent on the flowers.

Printer Trays

Happy Friday All! I have a huge confession today-I am addicted to Printer Trays! This first one up top is what started it all, I copied this one from one that Ginni Candelaria made at the past CTMH convention. In fact it was the only thing I took a picture of (art wise) while there.  That one lead to the Halloween one below!!  I already have a couple more in mind! If you would like to make your own, head over to my page and get your printer tray.

Homemade Tomato Jam

A few weeks ago a made a couple of batches of Tomato Jam-I planned to share a few jars, so I made some quick gift tags using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and the Crafted with Love stamp set. I tied the tags on with some Autumn Terracotta bakers twine.

If your would like to make your own Tomato Jam (you will LOVE it--I promise) here is the link to the recipe I used. Tomato Jam

Sweet Baby of Mine

This baby album is headed across the ocean to a very special friend in Australia! I used CTMH Bookmark album along with the bamboo floral pattern paper from the Flirty Collection. Since my friend has chosen not to find out if the new baby will be a boy or girl I paired the pattern paper with some pastel cardstock and the very bold cocoa cardstock. I used some stick pins from my stash as well as the Zoology stamp set and some lollipop flowers for the focal point. I also have a baby stamp set from Papertrey Ink with several great baby sayings and titles as well.

Bountiful Season

What is the best thing about A-Size stamps? The price of course for just $6.95 you can have this wonderful fall leaf stamp. This stamp is called Quick Cards-Bountiful Season and it comes with just one stamp, but it is sure a good one. The fall leaf with swirls is perfect for Fall or Thanksgiving cards. I paired the stamp with the Flirty Paper Pack and some seam binding ribbon.

Book Review: The Bronze Horseman

I am very surprised this one has not been made into a movie ( not that I know of ) because it is one of those gut wrenching love stories. This is the story of Tatiana and Alexander- who find themselves in love in the middle of a war- and I mean big war, Hitler is attacking Russia in an unstoppable blitz of Leningrad. Alex is a soldier in the Red Army, and his story of how he ended up there is quite interesting. He is keeping a secret of his own that could be very deadly for him. Tatiana lives in a 2 bedroom apartment with her sister and brother, mother and father, and grandparents.
There are so many things that interfere with Tatiana and Alex being together, and when they finally are it's a very powerful story!
I will tell you that at a little over half way, I thought about giving up on the book. Living during that time and in that place was brutal. After so many pages about starving and freezing to death, literally, I didn't think I could read much more. A few book group friends said that it got better and to read on, so I did and I am very glad. It was such a good Love story- so that's my warning, it's a little depressing to read at some points but hang on it does get better. The book also made me thank God that I live in the time I do and have all the things that I do, because I am pretty sure that I would not be able to survive as Tatiana and Alex did.

Owl Cork Board

A while back I found these cute owl cork boards in the Target dollar section and I picked up a few. At the time I really didn't know what I was going to do with them. Cutting out one of these owls from the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge was high up on my "to do" list, so when I started I thought it would go so well with the cork board. The original design of the owl seemed a little light in the belly feathers to me, so I cut some additional and fancied him up.
